Press conference on 23rd Asian Television Awards 2019

KUCHING - The press conference on the 23rd Asian Television Awards 2019 (ATA2019) was recently held at Riverside Hotel Astana Wing and was attended by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak, YB Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah 

According to him, the star-studded event marked the city’s maiden hosting of the ATA 2019 which is said to be gathering over 2,000 international visitors at the prestigious award show which is held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) at Isthmus Kuching on January 11 to 13.

Also present during the press conference were Permanent SEcretary to Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak (MTACYS), Mr Hii Chang Kee and Chairman of Asia Television Awards, Mr Lee Keen Whye.

The ATA 2019, is to be telecast live with an expected viewers of about 500 million people across the globe who will witness the presentation of awards across 14 categories including ‘Best Documentary Programme’, ‘Best New Programme’, ‘Best Talk Show’, ‘Best Children’s Programme’, ‘Best Sports Programme’, ‘Best Cinematography’ and ‘Best Original Screenplay’.

The Guest of Honour for the awards presentation ceremony of January 12 is His Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.
